Add a Lamb to the Thundering Herd

Ryan Lamb, a 5-foot-7 spark plug point guard from Whitefield Academy (GA), just needed to take a trip to Marshall in order to make his decision. He announced his decision to play for the Thundering Herd today.
Lamb, who took an official visit to the Huntington, West Virginia school last week, didn’t take long to make a decision.

“I just needed to go up there,” Lamb said. “I thought it over and decided that was the best place for me. It’s a friendly atmosphere and I just liked the fit. I fit in with the team and the school aspect of it. The coaches are guys I can see myself playing for over the next few years.”
Despite his size, he is an above average point guard with quick feet and even quicker hands. He attacks the basket like the underdog Lamb, as his name states, amongst the den of lions. There is very little fear in his nature. He hopes that will pay off when he gets to the MAC school.
“I’m going to just come in and work hard for a starting position. I know I have to work hard to prove myself to everyone,” Lamb said.
Lamb said he’s excited about playing for former Georgia head coach Ron Jirsa. He called the head coach and discussed his decision with the new staff.
“They seemed to be excited about next year,” Lamb said. “I’m the first recruit of this class so now we’ll see who else comes. I’d like to see some big guys because I like to give them the ball.”
The point guard won a state championship last season at Whitfield playing alongside current Stanford freshman Tim Morris.
