Jovan Adams, the No. 2 ranked point guard in the class of 2005, has had a host of schools seeking his services. Adams, 6-foot-1, 180-pounds from Gulf Shores Academy in Houston, Texas, has cut his school list down to four schools and has scheduled visits to three of them.

“My leaders are Arkansas, UNLV, Washington, and Arizona State,” said Adams. “I don’t have a clear cut leader right now. I will decide after my visits.”
Adams is planning on visiting all four schools and has already scheduled visits for UNLV, Arkansas, and Arizona State. “Wink” will visit UNLV first on August 26. On September 3 he will visit Arkansas, and on September 10 he will visit Arizona State. A date for a visit to Washington is being worked out.
The head coaches at both Arkansas and Washington have made a favorable impression on the scoring point guard.
“I like Coach Heath a lot,” said Adams. “He is a nice guy and makes you feel comfortable. I could definitely see myself playing for him.
“Coach Romar is a really nice guy. I like how they used their point guard Nate Robinson. He constantly runs the same way I like to play.”
The up tempo reputation of the Rebels also has Adams considering UNLV.
“Their style fits me well,” he said. “My mother and I really like the environment in Las Vegas, also.”
Arizona State is in the mix primarily because of their early efforts recruiting Adams.
“Arizona State was one of the first schools to start recruiting me,” he said. “It’s a good school, and I am looking forward to visiting them.”
Playing along side the No. 1 ranked player in the class of 2005 Gerald Green for both Gulf Shores Academy and the Houston Elite AAU club, the highly competitive Adams does much more than hand out assists. The physically strong Adams specializes in draining three pointers and fearlessly attacking the rim. Pound for pound, he is one of the best finishers on the circuit.
