Adam Zahn Is Open

Adam Zahn, an athletic 6-8, 220 pound forward from Redondo Union H.S. in Redondo Beach, Calif., has decided to wait until the spring to make a decision.
Zahn said he was offered scholarships this fall by San Diego State and Pepperdine.

"I loved the offers that I got early, but I wanted a better chance to look at both of those schools and possibly others," he said.
Southern California and Louisiana-Lafayette are two of the schools who have expressed a recent interest in Zahn, whose older brother Andrew attends Arizona.
Zahn said his goal is to play college basketball at the highest level possible, and he is hoping that a strong senior campaign at Redondo Union might produce some PAC 10 offers.
And colleges coaches and scouts will have several chances to catch Zahn at some high profile events in December, including the Slam Dunk to the Beach Tournament in Lewes, Del., as well as the Oceanview Tournament of Champions hosted by perennial Southern California powerhouse Mater Dei.
Zahn said his current top three list includes the two programs that have offered -- Pepperdine and San Diego State -- as well as USC.
Zahn averaged 17 points, nine rebounds and six blocks per game as a junior last year at Redondo Union. When Rivalshoops.com caught him in action this past spring and summer, Zahn impressed us with his leaping ability. However, he was a bit of a tweener in that he faced the basket quite a bit on offense, without the requisite speed to play on the wing.
Since we plan on covering the Slam Dunk to the Beach in December, we will keep you posted on Zahn and his recruitment as the winter unfolds.
