Ibekwe said his top list includes North Carolina, Maryland, USC, UCLA, Arizona and Kansas. "I took an official visit to Arizona in May," he said. "And I like to visit North Carolina and Maryland this summer." Schools that were on his list in the past include Illinois, Michigan, Duke, Georgetown, Oregon, Louisville, Georgia, Kentucky and UNLV.
Ibekwe plays with the California Team Select and the H Squad. His summer schedule includes the adidas ABCD camp and the Big Time Tournament.
Ibekwe averaged 19.7 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, three steals and three blocks per game as a junior this past season. He's also a good student with a 3.2 GPA and a 900 SAT score. "I'd like to make a decision on a college before my final school year starts," Ibekwe said. "I'm not sure what my major will be. I'm good in math so maybe I'll choose a field where I can use that skill."
