Mohamed Abukar, a 6-foot-9, 195-pound combination forward from Rancho Bernardo (CA) High School, has made his phone calls and will announce shortly his school of choice. "We tried to make sure there were no leaks," said AAU coach Ollie Goulston. "But he just now called the coaches with his decision."
Abukar had taken official visits to both schools. He praised each coaching staff after his visits. "He really had a tough time with the decision," Goulston said. "They are both great schools and programs."
Abukar will officially let the media know around 5:30 PM ET, 2:30 West Coast time. Abukar had also considered at one time in his recruiting process Louisville, UCLA, Missouri, and Georgia Tech. But Florida and Kentucky have been the two strongest schools since Abukar asked for his release from the Georgia basketball program. Goulston would not tell RivalsHoops.com of the decision. "It will be announced in the next hour," he said.
