Abukar Talks About UK Florida

Mohamed Abukar, a 6-foot-9, 195-pound combination forward from Rancho Bernardo (CA) High School, told RivalsHoops.com that his visit to Kentucky went well. "I had a chance to meet the players and the coaches," Abukar said. "Kentucky has great facilities. I didn't get a chance to see the Kentucky Derby but it was a great visit."

Abukar told us he had already planned a visit to Florida. "I am going to take that this weekend," Abukar said. "Then I might make up my mind between Kentucky and Florida."

But Abukar also said there is a possibility he would choose between Missouri, Louisville and UCLA for a third visit. "It depends on how I feel after the Florida visit," Abukar said. "I had promised Florida a visit so I am going to take it and have something to compare the Kentucky trip to."

Did Kentucky improve their chances with Abukar? "Yes, they did," Abukar said. "But I still have to visit Florida and I may take another visit after Florida."

Georgia Tech and Connecticut, previously mentioned, were not indicated as serious possibilities right now for Abukar, a four-star player for RivalsHoops.com.
