Abrams working to become complete player

Because of his skill level and athleticism, a number of high major programs are beginning to show an increased interest in Jamar Abrams. The 6-foot-6, 180-pound small forward from Highland Springs (VA) High School has the ability to play a number of positions and schools are beginning to take notice.
"Several schools came to watch Jamar play at the Slam Fest," said Willie Jackson, father of Jamar Abrams. "The event took place at the Siegel Center on the VCU campus. Virginia, William & Marry and Virginia Commonwealth are the schools that came by to watch Jamar play at the Slant Fest.

"Jamar is playing extremely well right now," he added. "He is such a versatile player and has the ability to play a number of positions. He is playing the four right now, but he can play the three, four or five."
Aside from the aforementioned programs, Abrams has been receiving attention from the likes of Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, South Carolina, Syracuse, Virginia Tech, American, Richmond and a number of other programs.
Jackson indicated that his son has the talent and ability to play a number of different positions at the collegiate level, but he still needs to improve several areas of his game.
"I believe that Jamar will play the two or three in college," said Jackson. "His strengths are definitely his pull up jump shot and dribble penetration. His pull up jump shot and dribble penetration are the two areas of his game that really stick out to me. One of his weaknesses is the fact that he is too unselfish.
"I would like Jamar to become more of a selfish player," he added. "His overall game is wonderful and his jumping ability is amazing. His ball handling skills are also good."
