ABCD Camp Propels Greens Recruitment

There have been a handful of players that have stepped up to the challenge of playing at a high level of basketball in July. One of those players that raised the level of his play is New York guard Danny Green. The 6-foot-5, 180-pound prospect from St. Mary’s High School also raised the number of high-major schools in his recruitment.
Green shined at the ABCD camp last week and the word shined is in understatement. He was amongst the leaders in scoring, rebounding, assists, shooting percentage and a blocked shots.

He told us his list of schools included Georgetown (offer), Pittsburgh (offer), Virginia (offer), Miami-FL (offer), St. Johns (offer) and Connecticut. With his play at the camp, even humble Green knew that list could grow over time.
“There might be more. I’m still open,” he said at the ABCD camp. “I’m in no hurry.”
He was right. North Carolina recently inquired, he said, since returning home from the individual camp. So what got into the No. 132 ranked player in the class of 2005 anyways?
“It’s all about getting the confidence to play better,” Green said. “You can’t get down on yourself and you have to have your confidence up. I feel like mine is at an all-time high.”
Green has been busy when he’s not playing by making visits to a couple of campuses. The versatile wing guard has taken unofficial trips to St. Johns and NC State already and he’s planning on more visits at the end of August and the beginning of September, he said.
“I’m looking at making trips to North Carolina, Pittsburgh, UConn and Miami before schools starts,” Green said. “I’ve got a team camp at Seton Hall coming up, too.”
Green will be at the Las Vegas Big Time tournament with his New York Panthers team and then to Los Angeles for the last go round on the AAU circuit.
