A Shooter Worth Watching

Highland C.C. in Freeport, Illinois, has pro1duced a number of Division I players under the tutelage of current Head Coach Pete Norman, and the Cougars might have another this winter in 6-4, 220 pound small forward Terrance Stafford.
A native of West Memphis, Ark., Stafford turned in a fine performance at the recent Meramec JUCO Shootout. He tallied 23 points in a 69-61 victory over Southwestern Illinois C.C.

Stafford is not the kind of player who will overwhelm you with quickness and athleticism. He has average abilities in both of those categories. What he does possess is a nose for the basketball and the ability to hit open shots, and he did that quite regularly against Southwestern Illinois. In fact, he hit four threes (mostly catch and shoot) against the Blue Storm.
Coach Norman told JUCO Junction/Rivalshoops.com that Stafford has the ability to play on the low Division I level, although his recruitment has been a bit slow up to this point.
Stafford won't sign until the spring, and we'll keep you posted on his recruitment as the season progresses. Sources do tell us that Hartford may take a look at him soon.
