Most schools are done with 2016 recruiting but Texas A&M was able to land a terrific late addition in four-star small forward DeShawn Corprew on Tuesday.

Corprew's coach at Winston Salem (N.C.) Quality Education Academy, Isaac Pitts, confirmed to Rivals that Corprew has signed with the Aggies after an official visit to College Station over the weekend

IN THE WORDS OF HIS COACH...

Pitts broke down Corprew's decision to choose A&M.

"I think he chose them because we played out in Texas this year and he had a chance to see the campus and see what they did. We also went to the Kentucky/Texas A&M game and he liked the atmosphere."

"He felt comfortable with the atmosphere and the head coach Billy Kennedy. Kennedy recruited all by himself, DeShawn wasn't dealing with an assistant."

"He brings that super athleticism and that toughness to the table. Plus he likes the situation there and they have need for somebody who can come in and play on the perimeter."

RIVALS' REACTION

While most programs are reaching to find late additions, the Aggies have landed a legitimate contributor and likely future starter in Corprew.

Ranked No. 85 in the final Rivals150, Corprew is a physically tough, athletic and high scoring wing who took huge steps as a senior. He's very consistent as a mid range jump shooter, has to be respected from deep and loves to attack the rim and earn trips to the free throw line.

With Corprew in the fold, the Aggies now have a stellar recruiting class featuring three four-star prospects. Point guard J.J. Caldwell finished at No. 58 overall while athletics power forward Robert Williams (aka Boo Butt) checked in at No. 67 overall. The Aggies class will move from No. 27 to No. 21 in the 2016 team recruiting rankings.
