A Look At Wes Wardrops Season

Worcester Academy head coach Mo Cassara was kind enough to spend some time and talk about one of his solid guards on his very talented team -- Wes Wardrop.
Wardrop is a 6-3, 180-pound combo guard from Worcester Academy in Massachusetts who signed with Loyola of Marymount this past Fall. Wardrop does not receive the publicity some of his other big name teammates do during the course of the season. However, Wardrop is a very valuable member of the Worcester Academy success this season.

"Wes Wardrop is the best defender I have ever coached," Cassara told us. "Wes is a tough, hard-nosed, and heady player."
Cassara said Wardrop was probably underrecruited. "Wes is a Big East talent," Cassara said. "There are many Big East schools who would take him now if they could."
Cassara said Wardrop has improved many parts of his game. But the more important individual aspect has been Wes' shooting and perimeter game. "Wes' outside shot is getting more consistant," Cassara said. "He is becoming more confident in it and he is looking for his shot more."
During his recruiting process, Wardrop had been hearing from Richmond, Manhattan, Richmond, Holy Cross, Penn, Davidson, Albany, and several West Coast schools. Wardrop played with the LA Rockfish in the summer with classmate Daryl Pegram.
