A Look At Luis Clemente

Luis Clemente, a 6-8, 225 pound power/combination forward from Maine Central Institute in Pittsfield, Me., competed this past weekend at the St. Thomas More tournament in Montville, Connecticut.
Clemente has been described in the past as skilled power forward. Clemente, a native of Puerto Rico, is at MCI in order to boost his academic credentials in line with NCAA freshman eligibility standards, and plans to do one year at the school according to Head Coach Karl Henrikson.

"He can score from the wing," said Henrikson after his team lost to St. Thomas More in the first round. "He is not an inside guy right now. He is a skilled player. Here we have been working on his strength. Getting him into the weight room."
What Clemente does best is shoot the ball. He has nice range on his jumper. He has long arms and has the ability to turn around and hit his jumper.
Clemente will not outrun you but he has the ability to grab rebounds because of his long arms, according to Henrikson. "He scores some of his points on the offensive glass," Henrikson said. "So he is very deceptive. When he does get his hands on the ball, he does score. Rarely will he not convert an offensive rebound."
Clemente signed with Texas A&M during the fall signing period. Along with Antoine Wright, the Aggies' fans have something to look forward to in the future.
