A Look At Larry Turner

Bridgton head coach Whit Lesure is excited to have Georgia native Larry Turner, a 6-11 center/forward on his squad now. One can see why Lesure is excited.
However, like any high school player, there are positives and negatives associated with a recruit's game. What Larry Turner does best is block shots, defend, and rebound. Turner is a player, like most high schoolers who play along the front line, need to polish up their inside, post-up moves.

Turner battled hard against a talented Worcester Academy front line. He blocked six shots and grabbed eight rebounds in the game we watched. He scored just six points but most of the scoring was done by the guards and small forwards for Bridgton that night. In other words, Turner didn't receive many touches in the low post.
Lesure said Turner is still committed to the University of Georgia. Turner now only needs to qualify on the ACT or SAT. Turner at 225 pounds should at least provide some putbacks, block shots and rebounds for the school he chooses next year. Right now, it looks like Turner will return to Georgia, according to Lesure.
Last year, Turner played at Baldwin H.S. in Milledgeville, Ga.. He previously had been hearing from Clemson, NC State, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Villanova, and Alabama.
