A Look at Fork Union Military Academy

Fletcher Arritt perennially has a strong program at Fork Union Military Academy, and 2003-2004 should be no different.
In addition to 6-6 Jermyl Jackson-Wilson, FUMA also has several other players expected to play key roles this winter.

One of the newcomers is 5-11 point guard Brian Smith, the son of Kentucky Head Coach Tubby Smith. Smith comes to Fork Union after a solid prep career at Lexington Catholic H.S. in Lexington, Ky.
Arritt is expecting key contributions from a pair of 6-8 forwards -- James Hairston and John Stanley. Hairston is from West Rowan H.S. in Charlotte, the same program that yielded FUMA Donte Minter. Minter had a great year at Fork Union last year and is now a freshman at Virginia.
One holdover from last year's squad is 6-1 point guard Akeem Hemingway of Myrtle Beach, S.C. Hemingway was a senior at Fork Union last year and is now doing a postgraduate campaign at the prep school. Arritt said that Marshall University is aggressively pursuing Hemingway this spring.
We'll continue to track Fork Union as the high school basketball season and fall signing period approach. Stay tuned!
