A Change Of Heart For Jamar Butler

It has been reported that Jamar Butler, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound point guard from Shawnee High School in Lima, OH., has backed out of his commitment to Cincinnati, and will reopen his recruitment. Another report indicated that he is still seriously considering Cincinnati, but is also interested in Clemson and Ohio State.
“I can’t really comment on the situation right now,” Butler said. “Its something that I’m not prepared to talk about just yet. I have not spoken with the Cincinnati coaching staff yet, but I will do that on Thursday.

“I’ll continue to talk with my family about this situation,” he added. “After I spend time talking with my family and the Cincinnati coaching staff, I will have a decision about my future.”
Butler indicated that a decision about his future would likely be made on Monday and, if everything goes as planned, he will notify us with his decision.
Rivals.com ranks Butler No. 61 on the Rivals150 list and the 12th best shooting guard in the class of 2004.
