7-Footer Drops Below Radar

You can't hide a reasonably skilled seven-footer, nor can you keep him from gaining exposure on a recruiting circuit that has been overrun with services, information, and tournaments.
But in James Davis, that's exactly what might have happened.

Davis is a seven-footer from Minneapolis North High School in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was academically ineligible to play as a junior, nor did he play in any prominent AAU tournaments during the summer before his junior year. As a consequence, you had a 7'0'' 265 pound center who had gotten frighteningly little exposure.
That's starting to change. Maybe it's been the gaudy numbers Davis has put up as a senior, or maybe it was the fact that he purportedly man-handled consensus top ten talent and Duke commit Kris Humphries earlier this season. But word is getting out.
Davis purportedly has good footwork and is a solid passer out of the post, as well as a budding mid-range game.
So far, Iowa and Purdue have expressed interest, and Louisville will come in on February 17th to see Davis against Minneapolis Henry, currently ranked among the top 25 teams in the nation.
Davis may not qualify, so junior college could be a possibility.
