6-9 Alex Craft Re-opens Recruiting

Alex Craft, the 6-9, 205 pound big man from Flour Bluff High School in Corpus Christi, TX, who verbally committed to Coach James Jones' Yale Bulldogs, has re-opened up his recruiting according to his family.
Craft, who led Flour Bluff to an undefeated regular season, averaged 21 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks as a senior despite often facing double coverage. Craft was named to the All-State 4A second team by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches and the All-Metro Most Valuable Player by the Corpus Christi Caller Times. He scored close to 1,800 points over his varsity career and had 546 blocks.

Craft's college destination is back open since Ivy League schools do not offer athletic scholarships and the other aid offered was a very small amount, according to his mother, Mary.

How about that? Shows there are folks involved with recruiting who have more than their own needs in mind. A coach goes out of his way to try to help out a kid when the end-result could be a negative for his program! Kudos from this reporter to Coach Jones.
Craft still has four official visits available. Prior to deciding on Yale, Craft was receiving interest from Richmond, Pennsylvania, Bucknell, TCU, Santa Clara, Lehigh, UNC-Wilmington, Rice, High Point, Navy, Columbia, Stephen F. Austin, Southwest Texas, and the Citadel.
