4 Chipola Players Sign With D-1s

Chipola Head Coach Ryan Cross is no stranger to producing Division I caliber players in his six-year stretch as a junior college sideline strategist.
This year, the Indians will have five players sign early. Four have already taken the plunge, as previously reported here on this website.

Michael Wilds, a 6-7 power forward, has inked with Utah State; Justin Smith, a 6-2 shooting guard, has pledged to Tennessee-Martin; Brandon Freeman, a high scoring 6-3 off guard, will play next year at Arkansas Little Rock; and Nick Williams, a 6-4 combo guard, will attend Cincinnati next fall.
A fifth player, Walter Harris, a 6-4, 200 pound sophomore small forward from Birmingham, Ala., is expected to sign early next week, possibly Monday. Cross said he's down to Louisiana-Monroe and Jacksonville State.
Two other Chipola sophomores, Division I bounce backs Tom Frericks, a 6-9 center, and 6-3 swingman JueMichael Young, will make spring decisions.
Rivalshoops.com will keep you posted on Harris, Frericks and Young in the weeks and months to come, so keep it here for the top coverage of junior college recruiting on the internet.
