LAKEWOOD, Calif. - Four-star shooting guard Bryce Hamilton had in-home visits with Arizona State and UNLV this weekend and is looking forward to visiting each campus. The Sun Devils and Runnin' Rebels are two of Hamilton's final six, with Nevada, Utah, Colorado and Ohio State making up his finalists.

Any one of these schools that lands the talented guard is getting a playmaker who sees the floor well and works hard on defense. Even at an end-of-the-summer tournament this weekend at the Ron Massey Memorial Classic, he took few possessions off.

Hamilton played almost every minute in a tough loss to defending state champions Bishop Montgomery but has high hopes for his senior season.

"This is my last year of high school ball and the goal is just to play together as a team," Hamilton said. " We have a lot of new players so we’re just trying to get them up to speed so we can build chemistry heading into the fall."

IN HIS OWN WORDS

Coaches from Arizona State and UNLV stopped by for in-home visits Saturday and Sunday showing Hamilton he's a high priority for both programs.

ARIZONA STATE: "I had a good in-home visit with Arizona State. We’re setting up an official visit hopefully soon. Coach (Bobby) Hurley and Coach (Rashon) Bruno came in and they were just telling me how they’re building the program. They just want me to come in right away and be the player I am now. They like the way I can score off the dribble and create for others."

UNLV: "I have a good relationship with the UNLV coaching staff and they’ve been recruiting me hard. I’m definitely going to get there for an official visit and check out the team a little more closely. They’re telling me the same things, that I can just come in and contribute right away."

WHAT'S NEXT

Hamilton plans on taking all five of his official visits to UNLV, Arizona State, Colorado, Ohio State, and Utah but hasn't scheduled anything yet. He's comfortable with all five programs and is just looking for that home feeling when he's on a visit. "When I start to take my official visits I’m just looking for a place where I feel like I’m at home and I just want to take a closer look at the campus and the teams," Hamilton said.

"It’s a big decision when you pick a school so I’m hoping I just get that overwhelming feeling of ‘this is the right place for me’ when I take these visits."

RIVALS REACTION

The fact that ASU and UNLV got in early for an in-home visit gives them a slight edge over the rest of schools but a lot can change between now and his official visits. Hamilton said he plans on making a decision before his high school season starts so look for an announcement to come before November.
