2013 five-star enrolls in junior college

One thing about high school basketball recruiting is that just when you think you've seen it all, you haven't. Take the case of Chris Thomas.
A class of 2013 five-star prospect and native of Denver, Thomas enrolled at Marianna (Fla.) Chipola College Monday afternoon.

Tuesday morning, Chipola head coach Jake Headrick confirmed that the 6-foot-4 shooting guard was on campus and enrolled in classes.
Most recently, Thomas has been attending South Kent (Conn.) Prep but he and the school had decided to go in different directions. Previously, Thomas had attended schools in his hometown, the Washington D.C. area and Phoenix.
Originally a member of the class of 2012, it was beginning to look unlikely that Thomas could qualify for college out of high school and his recruitment was very quiet due to academic question marks.
An explosive scorer who can put up huge amounts of points in a hurry, Thomas arrives at Chipola as a potentially big-time talent and one of the highest level JUCO recruits in some time.
This semester, Thomas will focus on adjusting to the academic side of things before playing as a freshman in 2012-2013.
