2008 forward cuts list to four schools

The recruiting battle over Chris Singleton just turned into a four-team race.
The highly touted, 6-foot-7 sophomore forward from Cherokee High in Canton, Ga., recently revealed that he has narrowed down the long list of schools recruiting him to four candidates.

"I'm down to South Carolina, Georgia Tech, Florida and Connecticut," Singleton told Rivals.com at the first annual King of the South tournament in Nashville this past weekend. "They are all good schools that can help me with basketball and get an education."
All of those programs have offered scholarships to Singleton, along with Alabama and Clemson.
Singleton said he hasn't scheduled any recruiting visits yet, but that he will be attending South Carolina's team camp later this summer.
Singleton has been on the recruiting radar of many schools for nearly a year. Georgia Tech coach Paul Hewitt attended several of Singleton's high school games this past season.
A versatile player who is blessed with a tremendous wingspan, Singleton plays on the perimeter and in the post and creates matchup problems for nearly every opponent his teams face.
