2008 Butler is wide-open

Like most prospects in the 2008 class, Damon Butler is in the very beginning stages of his recruitment. However, several programs have started to express an interest in the 5-foot-9, 165-pound point guard from North College Hill in Cincinnati, Ohio. According to Butler, he is wide-open at this time.
"I am looking at Oklahoma, Xavier, Pittsburgh, Florida State, Florida, Cincinnati and Akron," said Butler. "Xavier has expressed a lot of interest in me, and I've actually been down to watch them practice. I am pretty much wide-open right now and don't have a leader or any favorites.

"You know, my dream has always been to play basketball in college, so that's what I'm focused on right now," he added. "So far, some pretty good schools are interested in me, so I am going to continue to concentrate on making my dream of playing college basketball true."
There is no question that recruiting fans from across the United States are more than familiar with North College Hill. They've been a basketball powerhouse over the years with the likes of O.J. Mayo and Bill Walker.
Now that Mayo and Walker are no longer around, several other players must step-up for North College Hill of they hope to repeat the success they've achieved in past years.
"We just started practice last week," said Butler. "We play our first game on December 1, so I think that everybody is pretty excited about that. It was fun having O.J. Mayo and Bill Walker for most of my time here. Both of those guys really pushed us in practice.
"Now that both players have left, we need to step-up us a team," he added. "My coach wants me to be more of a scorer this year. He actually wants me to improve all areas of my game from the point guard position. I will do whatever I need to do in-order to help us win."
