2007 big man emerging in Colorado

Martell Jackson is emerging as a high-major 2007 prospect at Brighton (Colo.) High School. Already at 6-foot-10, 225-pounds, Jackson is averaging a double-double. High-majors and mid-majors out west are already recruiting Jackson as more schools will soon join the list.
"Right now Martell is getting interest from Nebraska, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Wichita State, Colorado State, USC and Wyoming," said Brighton head coach Dan Lliteras.

A lefty with good coordination, Jackson is averaging 13.5 points, 13.5 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocks per game.
"Martell has a really nice touch," said Lliteras. "He has good feet, and his best attribute is that he has really soft hands. He is very coordinated for his size and age and has a big upside."
As with many young, skilled big men, Jackson does need to become more aggressive.
"Martell needs to work on his aggressiveness," said Lliteras. "He's a competitive kid, but he needs to get a mean streak in him.
"He is also a little weak with his right hand, but it is getting better."
The hard working Jackson will play for both a local AAU team and the Colorado Chaos this summer.
