2007 Bayless Talks about Offer

After his impressive play at the Las Vegas Spring Showcase, 2007 prospect Jerryd Bayless was offered a scholarship by Arizona. RivalsHoops.com caught up with the 6-foot-2, 180-pound point guard from St. Mary’s High School in Phoenix, Arizona to get his thoughts on the early offer.
“It feels good, but I still have time to grow and make decisions,” said Bayless.

It is safe to say that Bayless does not play like a freshman on the 17-under circuit for the Arizona Magic’s younger squad. Bayless attributes much of his ability to his work with former Phoenix Suns coach Frank Johnson.
“Since I was nine, I have been working with Frank Johnson,” he said. “He is a close family friend.”
Although he is preparing to be caught in the crossfire of an intense recruiting war, the mature Bayless is much more focused on further developing his game.
“I really want to improve my long range jumper,” he said. “I can shoot it well on the arc, but I want to extend my range past the three point line.”
