2007 Aldrich set to visit Big 12 school

Cole Aldrich, the 6-foot-10, 235-pound power forward from Bloomington (MN) Jefferson High School has seen a leader emerge in his recruitment. The No. 6 ranked player in the class of 2007 will spend the weekend unofficially visiting the school that sits atop his list. While Aldrich indicated that a leader has emerged, he is not close to making a decision about his future.
"I have scheduled another unofficial visit to Kansas," Aldrich said. "I plan to be in town this weekend for the Texas game. I know that ESPN Gameday will be at the game as well, so I am definitely looking forward to the visit."

While Aldrich is still in the beginning stages of his recruitment, the No. 6 ranked player in the class of 2007 has a good feel for where things stand at this time. As it stands right now, Kansas, Duke, Kentucky, Marquette, Michigan State, Minnesota, North Carolina and Wisconsin are showing the most interest in Aldrich.
"The schools that are recruiting me now are the schools that I am interested in," Aldrich said. "I'm not going to close any doors at this time, but a lot of schools have had the opportunity to recruit me. I still have plenty of time to make a decision, but I feel extremely comfortable with the schools on my list.
"I don't see myself talking more than three official visits," he added. "I am definitely going to take an official visits to Kansas and Minnesota. I know that Minnesota is real close to me, but they have done a great job recruiting. There was a time when Arizona was high on my list, but they have dropped off a bit."
Aldrich made it perfectly clear that he does not plan to rush any decisions about his future, but he did say that a leader his emerged in his recruitment.
"Kansas is definitely my leader right now," he said. "I just really like Coach Self and the job he has done at Kansas. I do plan to take some official visits before I make any decisions, but Kansas will be tough to beat."
