2006 Semrau still favoring two

Long and skilled, Richard Semrau has the makings of a big time combo forward prospect. Ranked No. 28 in the class of 2006, Semrau, 6-foot-9, 210-pounds, from Lutheran West High School in Rocky River, Ohio, has numerous offers and two favorites.
"I like Wake Forest, North Carolina, Kentucky, Illinois, Florida, and Michigan,” said Semrau. “Wake Forest and Kentucky are my top two right now. Besides Wake Forest, I also have offers from Indiana, Northwestern, Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Iowa."

Although one of his favorites has not offered yet, Kentucky head coach Tubby Smith did come by Lutheran West this fall to watch Semrau workout.
"Head coaches from Wake Forest, Florida, Iowa, Northwestern, Valparaiso, and Kentucky have been by the school to see me play. All of the others sent assistant coaches."
As for his two leaders, Kentucky and Wake Forest, Semrau cited the head coaches and the campuses as positive drawing points.
"I have built a good relationship with both coaches,” he said. “We talk a lot and have a good relationship. I also liked the feeling I got when I was on their campuses.
“I’m looking for good academics and a good relationship with the coach. I want to go to a school where I feel I fit in with the program, and I must like the campus. I want to make sure I like the guys on the team."
Semrau, who averaged 23 points and 12 rebounds per game last season, carries a 3.1GPA and will take one of the college prep tests in December.
