2006 Lett Achieving Potential

Johnny Lett out of B. C. Rain High School in Mobile, Alabama is another one of those 2006 prospects who does not have great numbers yet but has a world of potential. The encouraging thing about this 6-foot-8, 215-pound small forward is that he is showing signs daily of achieving this potential.
"Johnny is receiving early interest from UAB, Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, Texas, Penn State, Florida State, Michigan, and Indiana,” said Coach Dunn of B. C. Rain High School. “Alabama's assistant coach Orlando Early came to a practice earlier in the year.”

Coach Dunn noted the progress Lett is making on a daily basis.
“Johnny is definitely a high major prospect, and I think if he continues to work hard, he will be one of the top 20 players in the nation,” said Coach Dunn. "He has unbelievable potential. He's almost 6-foot-9 and is a legitimate small forward. Right now he does everything fairly well. His ball handling is improving as is his mid-range game. Johnny shoots it well from the outside and has the ability to put the ball on the floor and get to the rim. He shows signs daily of being a pro. He does something everyday that makes you say, ‘wow!’”
Although Lett averaged just 8 points along with 9 rebounds during the season, His productivity was much higher during the later part of the year.
"Johnny’s productivity picked up a lot at the end of the year,” said Coach Dunn. “At the start of the year we were running most or our sets for our seniors, and Johnny wasn’t as involved as much as he should of been. He averaged a double-double the last half of the season. "
Along with lifting and playing daily at his high school, Lett will also play AAU for the Gulf Coast Stars and will attend the ABCD camp in July.
