With a big body and a soft touch, Casiem Drummond is a special prospect in the 2006 class. Ranked No. 82 in his class, Drummond, a 6-foot-10, 275-pound center from Bloomfield Tech (N.J.) High School, needs to find a consistent level of effort each night on the court, and his three offers at the moment will balloon to double digits.

"Right now Casiem is interested in St. John's, Kansas, DePaul, Wake Forest, Miami and Cincinnati among others," said Drummond's AAU coach Galen Smith of Team New Jersey Elite. "As far as I know St. John's, DePaul and Cincinnati have offered, but all of these schools have been in to watch him play."
Averaging roughly 16 points and 11 rebounds per game, Drummond has picked up his effort level in 2005 according to Smith.
"Casiem is playing well," said Smith. "He has been the MVP of two tournaments this year.
"He's rebounding the ball a lot better this year and has a nice touch from the outside. He can consistently knock down the 15-footer. As of January, he has really picked it up and is playing hard."
Now the question for Drummond is whether he can maintain this effort throughout the season and into the AAU season.
"In my opinion, if he played consistently, he would be a top 25 player," said Smith. "He needs to be more consistent game in and game out."
