2006 Deane Names Five

2006 prospect Daniel Deane played as hard as any player at the Nike Hoop Jamboree. The 6-foot-8, 225-pound power forward has some game as well. Deane, from Judge Memorial Catholic in Park City, Utah, listed five schools that are showing strong interest.
“I am really undecided and have no list, but UCLA, Utah, Stanford, Marquette, and Arizona are just a few schools that are contacting me,” said Deane.

Deane did outline what he was looking for in a school.
“I would like to get some time as a freshman,” he said. “I would also like to go to a school that is highly recognized for academics. And I want to play with teammates that are nice people.”
Deane, who will leave for camp at UCLA on Monday, caught the attention of everyone at the Hoop Jamboree with his physical, skillful play around the basket and his ability to run the floor.
“I played alright at the camp,” said Deane. “I rebounded and finished well. I didn’t do much from the outside, but I do see myself as a three/four in college. My offense will be fine for the three, but I need to work on my defense to guard the three. But it is getting better.”
A member of the Utah Pump N Run AAU team, Deane has been torn lately about what shoe company camp to participate.
“I was invited to the Nike All-American Camp after the Hoop Jamboree, but I was first scheduled to go to ABCD,” he said. But then I found out that if I go to the adidas Camp, two of my teammates will be able to go to adidas. So I am going to go to adidas. We already have the tickets for Atlanta.”
