2006 prospect Bryan Davis put up solid numbers for his Grand Prairie (Texas) High School team that finished the year 30-5. But it was an upset loss in the regional playoffs that motivated the 6-foot-8, 225-pound power forward to take his game to another level. Two quality high major programs have taken notice.
“I have really been working on my game after we lost in the regional playoffs,” said Davis, who plays for Team Texas. “Losing that game has really motivated me. I have been working hard, running, shooting, and lifting.”
Davis, who averaged 11 points, 13 rebounds, and 3 blocks per game this year, mentioned two schools in particular when asked about his recruitment after a game in the Spring Showcase.
“Arizona and Kansas have both been calling me,” he said.
Davis, who is already well built, has room to put on even more weight. He is at his best running the court and crashing the offensive boards. If he keeps up the work, his skill level will soon match his athleticism.
