2006 Christopher headed to the Pac-10

One of the top shooters on the west coast, Patrick Christopher, 6-foot-3, 165-pounds, is scoring 23 points per game for his Mayfair High School team in Lakewood, Calif. The three-star 2006 shooting guard prospect is planning on putting up some numbers early in his career for the Pac-10 school that he committed to yesterday.
"I committed to California yesterday," said Christopher. "I'm very excited about playing for California and Coach Braun. I really feel that they are an up and coming program."

Throughout the recruiting process, Christopher received some very valuable guidance from his two coaches and on of his off season workout partners Josh Childress of the Atlanta Hawks.
"NBA star Josh Childress, AAU coach Dave Miller and my high school coach Monty Owens gave me a lot of guidance," he said. "Josh felt it was important to help me because he didn't get a lot of guidance when he was being recruited."
Along with his 23 points per game, Christopher is also averaging 7 rebounds and 5 assists per game. In a match up this year against Westchester High School, Christopher scored 24 points against Connecticut signee Marcus Johnson.
Christopher is hoping to make his presence felt immediately upon arriving at California.
"My goal is to come in and make a contribution early," he said.
Christopher was also considering Washington and Arizona. Neither school had yet offered him.
