2006 Chicago Guard Drawing Offers

Look out for 2006 prospect Andre Gullen. The 6-foot-6, 170-pound shooting guard from Harlan High School in Chicago, Ill., is in the process of blowing up as schools come in to watch him play this fall. A couple high majors have already made offers according to his coach Andre Peavy.
"Andre is hearing from Louisville, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Marquette, Bradley, Nebraska, and Ole Miss,” said Coach Peavy. “Andre is a big time player, and by the time he graduates, I’m sure a lot more schools will come calling. Coach Pitino was in here this week and offered Andre. Ole Miss has also offered.

"Louisville, Nebraska, Marquette, Bradley and Ole Miss have all been by the school to watch Andre play."
Coach Peavy continued with a description of Gullen’s game.
"He's a scorer,” said Coach Peavy. “Andre has great touch. When he shoots, he hardly ever touches the rim. He can shoot it deep and has a real good midrange game. He puts the ball on the floor well enough to get where he's going but could use a little work on it. I compare Andre to Latrell Sprewell with a better jump shot. He is special. He's the real deal.
"Andre needs to work on going left. He also needs to work on his defense. He gets a lot of steals because of his length but needs to play hard on the defensive end at all times. Andre is a great kid with a good work ethic, so I know he will continue to improve. The sky is the limit for this kid.”
Gullen averaged 18 points and 8 rebounds per game as a sophomore last season.
