2006 Bennett Playing Well

Jason Bennett, the No. 38 player in the Rivals50 for the class of 2006, has regained his health and has most everybody in the country looking at him.
When asked who was after the 7-foot-1, 225-pound sophomore center, Rex Morgan, his coach at Arlington Country Day in Jacksonville, Florida had both a specific and general answer.

“Florida, Florida State, Arkansas, and everybody else in the country,” said Coach Morgan.
Coach Morgan, who once played for the Boston Celtics, had some nice things to say about his big man.
“He has been playing really well,” he said. “I thought he might score a little more for us this year, but he is not getting that many touches. Teams are packing it in on him.”
“He is playing really well on the defensive end. He held Steven Hill [2004 Arkansas commitment] to 1 of 15 shooting and blocked four of his shots.”
Hill, who has been battling tendinitis in his knees, has never really hit the weights. That will all change during the coming off season.
“At the end of the season, we are going to start him on an extensive weight program,” said Coach Morgan. “He hasn’t been lifting because of his tendinitis. But he is getting healthy, and I expect him to start improving a lot.”
