2005 Dixon might reclassify

2005 power forward prospect Horace Dixon from Maudlin (S.C.) High School might just buy himself some time to get stronger by going to prep school next year and reclassifying to 2006. As it stands now, Dixon, 6-foot-8, 190-pounds, has a mid-major offer and some high-major interest.
"I'm interested in St. Bonaventure, Kentucky, Miami, Tennessee, UCLA and UAB," said Dixon. "But I may reclassify next season. If I do that, I'll go to Mt. Zion."

St. Bonaventure is the one school that has an offer on the table for Dixon to sign this spring.
Long but extremely lean, Dixon knows he must get significantly stronger before he will be able to make an impact at the collegiate level.
"I need to stay in the weight room and continue to get stronger," he said. "I also need to work on my shooting and my overall game in general."
Averaging 15 points, 10 rebounds and 2 blocks per game for Maudlin (16-6), Dixon will run with Coach Horace Neysmith and the newly formed Georgia Hurricanes this summer if he does indeed reclassify.
"Horace runs the floor well," said Coach Neysmith. "He's a very good athlete, a good shot blocker, and he has a nice shot out to 15-feet."
