2003 Target: Shannon Brown

Shannon Brown, a 6-2, 185-pound shooting guard from Proviso East High School in Illinois, told us last night he will cut his list as the summer goes along. "I am not ready to cut it yet," Brown told us. "I still have many schools I am interested in."
Brown told us that Michigan State, Illinois, Maryland, Arizona, Kansas, Duke and Connecticut are just a few schools he might be interested in taking a visit to. "I am pretty much open right now," Brown said. "I just want to play in some tournaments and decide along the way who I am seriously interested in."

Brown will play for the Illinois Warriors at the Howard Pulley tournament, the Spiece tournament, St. Louis Eagles event and the NIKE Memorial Day tournament. "I don't know if I will take any unoffical or official visits yet," Brown said. "I have so many tournaments coming up. It might not be possible."
Brown told us that distance is not part of his decision making process. "It doesn't matter where I go or where it is as long as it's a good place for me," Brown said. "So I will look at schools across the country."
Brown told us he wants to work on his off the ball defense this summer. "I played better this year with my defense but I want to pick it up more this summer," Brown said. "I also have a goal of trying to make the McDonald's All American game too. I would love to make that game."
There has been some speculation that Brown may visit Michigan State soon. Brown said he was unsure where and when he would visit a school.
