Renaldo Balkman, a 6-6, 190-pound swingman from IMG in Florida, is one of the better players rivalshoops.com saw at the 2002 National Prep School Invitational this past weekend.
Balkman showed the ability to get to the basket and finish strong. He, along with Mark Williams, were the two top players from IMG at the Prep School event held on the campus of Bryant College.
Balkman averaged a little more than 15 points a game. He rebounded well and blocked shots. He showed he is an athlete who has some good basketball skills.
According to the coaching staff at IMG, Balkman has been receiving some early interest from the Florida based colleges and universities. Central Florida, South Florida, Miami, and Florida State are among the schools showing preliminary interest in Balkman. Texas A&M was also another school mentioned by the staff of IMG as a school Balkman would be interested in.
Balkman is open in his recruiting process, according to the coaching staff at IMG. Many schools did see Balkman play this past weekend and are likely to keep an eye on him this upcoming summer.
