2003 Target: Keith Simmons

Keith Simmons, a lanky 6-4, 173 pound combo/shooting guard from Kingston H.S. in Kingston, N.Y., is a player to watch in the Class of 2003.
Simmons first came to the attention of the Insiders Report/Rivalshoops.com last spring playing for the Sullivan Eagles AAU program. Last week at the Hoop Group/Converse Spring Slam Fest in Providence, Simmons played with the New York Elite program.

Simmons said he has early interest from Boston University, Marist, Rider, Quinnipiac, Penn and Albany.
A lanky athlete with good quickness and adequate ball handling skills, Simmons averaged 19 points, 11 rebounds, six assists and three steals per game for Kingston H.S. this past season.
Simmons will play with New York Elite this spring and summer, which features some of the better juniors in the New York metropolitan area (including Loughlin's Kirk Bunn and a trio of foreign big men from Our Savior New American).
In addition to attending either the Eastern Invitational or the Five-Star basketball camp, Simmons is hoping to receive an invite from a shoe company sponsored event.
Depending on how he plays this spring, Simmons could bolster his chances for such an invite and also help his stock recruiting wise.
Simmons said he has an 86 average in the classroom and plans to take the SAT for the first time in May. We'll keep you posted on his development in the coming months, so stay tuned.
