2003 Target: Jason Patterson

PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Jason Patterson, a 5-10, 150 pound junior shooting guard from St. Patrick H.S. in Elizabeth, N.J., showed his talents again this past weekend at the Charlie Weber tournament on the campus of Villanova University. Patterson played with the New Jersey Celtics.
Patterson is a player, if he progresses in getting his shot off with the dribble, could be a high division one player. "I am open," Patterson said. "I just want to work on my handle and strength."

Patterson told us that Monmouth and Rutgers are the two schools working him the hardest. has enjoyed some tremendous shooting performances for the Celtics this season.
Although he possesses a willowy build, Patterson is quick and can be a deadly catch and shoot three point specialist. He is one of those players who defenses need to keep an eye on at all times, because if you give him daylight, he can bury you from deep.
A few years ago, St. Pat's had a shooter deluxe named Walter Price, but St. Patrick head coach Kevin Boyle said in a previous interview that Patterson is quicker than Price, who wound up at Long Island University in Brooklyn.
Patterson and his coach mentioned previous interest by Indiana and Seton Hall. But Patterson told us yesterday that Monmouth and Rutgers were the schools most seriously pursuing him.
