2003 Target: Jamaal Dixon

Jamaal Dixon, a 6-2 combo guard from Thayer Academy in Braintree, Massachusetts, is spending his spring and summer with the Long Island Panthers and head coach Gary Charles.
Dixon saw plenty of minutes this past weekend at Wayne Simone's AAU tournament held on the campus of Yale. Dixon is a slashing type of player who is working on his perimeter game. He gets to the basket nicely and doesn't back away from challenging big defenders. He dropped in 10 points on Saturday in helping the Panthers win a pool game, one of two games Rivalshoops.com watched of Gary Charles' team.

Dixon plays hard, defends well, and pushes the ball up the floor nicely. Dixon averaged 18 points, eight assists, and three steals this past season.
"The Atlantic 10 schools are involved," said his father, who also coaches his son at Thayer. "But he is also interested in Maryland. We're not sure how much Maryland is interested in him though. And Pittsburgh has shown a lot of interest."
