Demetris Nichols, a 6-7, 190-pound swingman from Baarrington, Rhode Island, still lists Syracuse, Providence, Seton Hall, and Villanova as his top schools.
Nichols may take an unofficial visit next weekend after he competes in the Charlie Weber tournament held on the campus of Villanova University. Nichols previously cancelled a visit to Villanova two weeks ago.
Sources tell us that Syracuse will watch Nichols work out today. There had been talk that Nichols was close to committing to Syracuse. As of posting this story, no official word of a commitment. Nichols had previously indicated he wanted to make a decision in April. Well, April is here. We will keep an eye on Nichols especially this month.
Nichols averaged almost 14 points a game, six rebounds, three assists, and three blocks last year as a sophomore. He was slightly above those levels this season.
Nichols scores most of his points inside and is working on improving his perimeter game. He does have nice rotation on his shot. He has great upside to his game and appears to be very coachable.
We will update this recruit if anything breaks...
