2003 Target: Danny Nawrocki

Danny Nawrocki, a 6-6, 215-pound power forward from Chaminade High School in Mineola, New York, is a 2003 clas member and is starting to attract some division one interest.

points and 10 rebounds Tuesday as Chaminade dropped an
interleague decision to St. Mary's. Nawrocki is a
strong student with a sturdy frame and developing
inside-out game, and some of the stronger academic
institutions in the Northeast have already taken
notice of the junior.
Nawrocki, who is averaging 22 points and 15 rebounds
in the formidable Catholic League on Long Island, has
received interest from Bucknell, Holy Cross, Lehigh,
Princeton, Brown, and Davidson. He took unofficial
visits in the past year to Bucknell, Holy Cross, and
Lehigh.
Nawrocki possesses a strong frame, and should only
bulk up over the next few years. He is active around
the hoop, with decent hands and solid footwork.
Perhaps most intriguing about Nawrocki is his
willingness and comfort in stepping out on the
perimeter and pulling-up. On Tuesday he didn't connect
from deep, but his mechanics and confidence from
long-range suggest that down the road Nawrocki could
be a legitimate inside-outside threat.
Danny has a 90 average and scored 1140 on the PSAT.
The well-spoken native of Syosset played this past
summer with the Long Island Lightning AAU club.
