Chris Richard, a 6-8, 225-pound forward from Kathleen High School in Lakeland, Florida, told us he prefers staying in the South but would move for the right school. Richard, who averaged 18 points, nine rebounds, and five blocks per game, told us he plans on unofficially visiting Florida State and Florida next month.
"I am also considering Miami, Maryland, Indiana, North Carolina, Alabama, and Connecticut," Richard said. "But there are other schools too that on my list. Right now I don't have a real narrow focus."
Richard will play this summer for the Tallahassee Wildcats, one of the country's top AAU programs. "Style of play is going to be very important in my decision," Richard said.
"I want to play for a team that likes to trap, run, and press. My team did that this season. I enjoy that style. Most of these schools on my list play that way."
Richard said he has no leader. "They are all even right now," Richard said. "Once I start visiting some schools I will have a better idea as to who is at the top of my list."
