2003 Target: Brandon Bass

Brandon Bass, a 6-7, 225-pound small forward from Capital High in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was a key factor in his team's success this year. The junior averaged 18 points and 13 rebounds for a team that finished at 28-3. As the season came to a close, interest from college recruiters intensified.
"I'm getting mail from everybody," he said in an interview this evening.

Many schools have taken the time to scout him in person and make inroads with his coach. According to Bass, schools showing the most interest include Miami, LSU, Alabama, Mississippi State, Georgia Tech, UCLA, Southern Cal and Missouri. "I'm looking for a school that will help me get to the next level and has a good education," said Bass.
Bass' forte is facing up and penetrating. He has defined a personal goal of strengthening his shooting and ball handling this summer. He also wants to work on the mental aspect of his game.
"Most of all, I want to learn the game mentally," he said. "I really want to know the game."
Bass will be traveling with the H Squad and the New Orleans Jazz this summer. His summer will be highlighted by trips to the Big Time Tournament and ABCD.
