2003 Target: Art Bowers

PRINCETON, NEW JERSEY -- Art Bowers, a 6-4, 190 pound shooting guard from St. Benedict's Prep in Newark, N.J., was one of the major contributors in helping his team win the New Jersey Prep School title held this past weekend on the campus of the Hun School.
Bowers' overall offensive game has improved since he transferred from Hodgson Vo-Tech in Delaware to St. Benedict's. Bowers uses his body well in the paint against bigger bodies. One can say he is a very physical guard who can mix it up inside.

Bowers has terrific body control and has always been a good finisher at the basket, but he has also made marked improvement in his shooting. He can consistently hit the short-mid range pull up jumper, and his three point stroke is steadily improving. Against Blair Academy, Bowers did drop in a couple of jumpers. But he clearly made most of his damage on the inside.
Bowers has a list of Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, UConn, St. John's, Maryland, Villanova and Seton Hall. But he is open in his recruiting process. He has not ruled out any indicated interest.
Bowers will once again play for the T5T Playaz program this spring and summer, and the Insiders Report/Rivalshoops.com will keep you informed on his play and recruitment.
