Two of Rivals.com's top five players in the country, Derrick Rose and Kyle Singler, appear close to making decisions about their college futures.
Singler, ranked No. 4 overall, is scheduled to hold a news conference at 3 p.m. Pacific on Friday at South Medford (Ore.) High School. The 6-foot-8 small forward will choose from among Duke, Kansas and Arizona, with the Blue Devils expected to be his choice.
Rose, ranked No. 3 overall, is taking an unofficial visit to Illinois this weekend. The Chicago Simeon point guard will hold a news conference to announce his decision "around the weekend after Signing Day," according to his older brother Reggie.
Rose has Indiana and Memphis as his leaders, with the homestate Illini trying to stay in the picture.
