Brockman, Brown Spark Big US Win in France

In day one of pool play at the Junior World Championships in Doaui, France, the United States squad sent a message to the field with their 87-48 win over England. Current Michigan State guard Shannon Brown led the attack and had help from rising senior Jon Brockman.

Brown, who is the oldest player on the team, toyed with the English defense, scoring 14 points. The former McDonalds All-American also pulled down nine rebounds and had five assists in the win.

Brockman, who is ranked No. 45 in the class of 2005 by Rivals.com, scored 14 points. In the exhibition game against Germany, Brockman scored just points. With a good night's rest under his belt, he looked strong as ever, according to USA head man Linzy Davis. Brockman recently told RivalsHoops.com that Washington, UCLA, Arizona, Gonzaga, North Carolina, and Duke were his top schools.

Future Oregon Duck Malik Hairston contributed with 11 points while Arizona-bound Jawann McClellan chipped in with nine points. The two will be a great match-up in many Pac-10 games down the road.

Rising junior Derrick Caracter, the Rivals.com No. 4 player in the class of 2006, continues his stellar play in France by scoring nine points. As one of the youngest participants in the field, he's playing like a seasoned player.

A.J Price, who will play at UConn next year, scored eight points while Keith Brumbaugh, the No. 2 player in the class of 2005 by Rivals.com, added seven points. Alabama big man Jermareo Davidson also scored seven points.

7-foot center Brian Zoubek gave six points in the win while Greg Paulus had a quiet two points.
