NYCHoops.net #4 ranked Christ the King Royals (6-1) won its fourth Mirabito STOP-DWI Holiday Classic National division championship on Monday, defeating Long Island's #1 ranked L.I. Lutheran Crusaders (8-1), 56-53.
"[This win was] very important because we didn't look tough leaving New York," said Royals Head Coach Joe Arbitello after the game. "[We] took some big steps.
Christ the King's Adonis Dela Rosa and Alkins were named to the All-Tournament Team along with Green & Atkinson from LuHi. Atson, a 6'4" junior, also received individual accolades with the second highest overall scoring average in the National division at 20 points per game.
For the Crusaders, who also lost to Christ the King last season during the New York State Class AA championship, this was their first loss of this season.
