Louisville adds Norwegian big man

It looks like Rick Pitino and Louisville are adding a big man from well off of the radar by dipping into the Norwegian talent pool.

Tuesday, the Cardinals signed seven-foot tallk big man Matz Stockman to grow their class to five players.

A member of Norway's 18 and under team, Stockman is a slender and mobile big who currently attends the Canarias Basketball Academy in the Canary Islands.

Listed at 6-foot-10 during his time in Norway, Rob Orellana the director of CBA said in a press release that Stockman has grown.

"First and foremost, we think this is a tremendous opportunity for Matz," said Orellana. "Getting the opportunity to train under Hall of Fame Coach, Rick Pitino is a chance of a lifetime. In Matz, Louisville is getting a big man with unlimited potential. He's every inch 7-foot-2, has a 7-foot-6 wingspan and is extremly agile. He has the potential to be elite, it's just a matter of time."

Currently unrated -- due to lack of exposure in the States -- Stockman joins a loaded recruiting class. Four-star wing Shaqquan Aaron, four-star point guard Quentin Snider and four-star big men Jaylen Johnson and Chinanu Onuaku give the Cardinals a formidable group.
