Big Weekend Ahead For Virginia

The city of Charlottesville will be the focal point of two important recruiting battles. The University of Virginia plans on hosting the country's second best player, Luol Deng, and another top 25 player in Terrence Roberts.

Roberts (right) has already visited Syracuse. He also plans on visiting Florida and Maryland. The 6-8 forward had a super workout yesterday in front of programs like Syracuse, Maryland, and Seton Hall. Roberts was draining three's and slamming home missed shots, according to our sources who attended the workout for St. Anthony's High School.

Deng (left), a 6-8 multi-purpose player from Blair Academy in New Jersey, cut his list down to Duke, Virginia, Missouri, and Indiana. Deng will visit Virginia on September 20th, Missouri on September 27th and in late October he will visit Duke. Indiana is trying to schedule a visit.

Deng, who may play the point this year at Blair Academy, is ranked as the second best player in the 2003 class by RivalsHoops.com. Both he and Roberts have offensive flexibility to play different positions. This is a key reason why so many high majors would love to have both or at least one of them on their rosters.

So Charlottesville becomes a key city this weekend when watching the recruiting wars for the best in the class of 2003. We will post the results on Sunday.
