Antoine happy with his decision

Belle Chasse, La., safety Quadry Antoine made a commitment to Mississippi State nearly two months ago. He said at that time he was ready to be a Bulldog. Since that time, Antoine has got to visit his future school a couple more times and has become convinced he made the right decision.

Recently Antoine was excited to return to Starkville for the Big Dawg Camp. While he was there to show what he could do, he came away very impressed with the level of talent that Dan Mullen was able to get on campus.

"The camp was great," Antoine said. "It was by far the best collection of talent I have seen at any camp this year. They had everything. There were fast receivers, good route runners, big physical receivers, and smaller quick receivers. Then you had good cover corners, big physical safeties like me, and combo DB's. It was by far the best camp experience I had all year."

Getting to spend time with his future coaches was also something Antoine enjoyed. And even though Antoine has his spot locked up, it was important to him to spend some time around the coaches.

"I talk to Coach (Greg) Knox all the time," Antoine said. "He is a great guy. But I got to work with the defensive coaches at camp. They were coaching me up and showing me stuff I will be able to use in my high school season. It's going to make me a better player and help my team as well."

As far as his commitment, Antoine stated he is 100-percent sure he made the right choice. He has one goal now to focus on his senior year and that is helping his team reach a common goal.

"Getting to commit early was great," Antoine said. "It was a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. It's great to know that I won't have to be taking anymore visits. I can focus on my team and our goal to win a state championship. I am so ready for our season to start. MSU will be the only visit I take and I am a man of my word. I am a Bulldog."
